The Past

I just had to share these photos with you.  These are very old, very delicate, very precious recipe notepads that were once my grandmother's.  Some of the pages are smeared, some of the pages are even missing, but that's ok.  It's a piece of my families history... and I am thankful that I have them.

And, yes, one of these days I'll break them out of their little protective baggie again and actually make something from them.

Until then... the pictures will just have to suffice :)

  9. Think of how lucky we are to be able to find and share so much information (recipes); whereas in her day these notebooks were absolutely essential just to be able to remember how to do it!

  11. Oh, how fabulous!!! Neither of my grandmothers left recipes - one left a couple of scribbles about ingredients - so your family treasures are absolutely precious!!!

  12. They look very similar to ones I have from my husband's mother, if still alive would be about 96 years old. I'll have to get them out, it's been awhile since I've browsed through them. Cherish those Jenn.

  14. This makes me sad because I have ONE recipe from my grandmother like this for my BBQ pork and it has gotten misplaced somewhere in this house. I know I will find it one day but it I hate not knowing where it is.
